How many times have you been invited to a wedding and instantly felt like you need to consult a fashion oracle about what to wear? Personally, it happens every. single. time. As we age, the wedding invites dwindle—unless it’s the second or third round of “I do”, however, we were recently invited to a wedding in the picturesque Asheville, North Carolina, at a magical spot called The Pretty Place– and wow, did it live up to its name! The invite stated“formal attire,” but plot twist: the wedding was at 10 AM! I rummaged through my closet like a contestant on a reality show, yet I couldn’t find a single outfit that screamed “formal morning chic.” I scoured the internet for hours, battling my way through a sea of indecision. Do I dare go with black at a morning wedding? Should I opt for a long or short dress? Is sleeveless okay? Blah, blah, blah…

Edit: After I wrote this article, Asheville was tragically hit by Hurricane Helene, placing this beautiful town under water and leaving a devastating scene. The Pretty Place was hit hard by the storm and it will take a long time to recover from the damage in these areas.
